Terms of Service

These terms cover how you may use The Fairway. They sit alongside the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Agreement

By using The Fairway (thefairwayai.com), you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The service

The Fairway provides AI-assisted search and chat over PDGA Official Rules of Disc Golf and Competition Manual material, with citations, and optional photo-of-lie context. Features may change, be limited, or go offline (including beta or experimental features).

Chat requires sign-in. Search of the rule book can be used without an account. The Fairway is free in this version (usage is metered for our operations; there is no paid plan).

Not affiliated with the PDGA. The Fairway is an independent tool. It is not an official PDGA product, endorsement, or rules authority.

AI disclaimer — read this

  • Answers are generated by AI and can be wrong, incomplete, or outdated.
  • This is not legal advice, not professional advice, and not an official ruling.
  • Always check the cited PDGA text at pdga.com/rules (and related official sources). Rules change.
  • On the course, the group makes the call and the tournament director’s ruling is final (see PDGA 801.02 / 801.03). Do not treat The Fairway as overriding a TD or group procedure.
  • You are responsible for how you use answers in play, scoring, or disputes.

Accounts and eligibility

  • Sign-in is by phone OTP (Supabase Auth), the email magic link, or Google (also through Supabase Auth, not Firebase). Keep access to your phone, inbox, and Google account secure.
  • You must provide accurate information and be at least 16 years old. This app does not check age at sign-up.
  • You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us if you suspect unauthorized use.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts for abuse, risk, or Terms violations.

Self-serve account deletion is not available. Email [email protected] to request deletion. After we verify the request, we will delete or anonymize your account data and associated chat and photo content where feasible, within a reasonable period. See the Privacy Policy.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Break the law or infringe others’ rights.
  • Probe, scrape at abusive scale, reverse engineer, or overload the service.
  • Upload malware, or content that is illegal, harmful, or exploitative (including sexual content involving minors).
  • Upload photos of people without a lawful basis / their permission; prefer lie/course photos without identifiable faces.
  • Misrepresent AI output as an official PDGA ruling or as legal advice.
  • Bypass rate limits, security, or access controls.
  • Use the service to build a competing rules dataset by systematic extraction beyond normal personal use.

We may remove content or restrict access when we reasonably believe these rules are broken.

Intellectual property

  • The Fairway name, branding, software, and our original materials belong to us or our licensors.
  • PDGA rules text and trademarks belong to the PDGA (and respective owners). We summarize and cite for convenience; we do not claim ownership of PDGA materials.
  • You keep rights to content you submit, but you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive license to host, process, and use that content to operate and improve the service (including sending it to AI/analytics providers as described in the Privacy Policy).

Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that answers match official rulings.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE (AND OUR SUPPLIERS) ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST SCORES, TOURNAMENT OUTCOMES, ENTRY FEES, PROFITS, OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR RELIANCE ON AI ANSWERS.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO CAD $50 (the service is currently free; you have paid us $0).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those places, our liability is limited to the fullest extent allowed.

Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the service, your content (including photos), or your violation of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Prince Edward Island and the applicable laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in PEI have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer protections require otherwise.

Changes

We may update these Terms by posting a new version with a new “Last updated” date (currently September 17, 2026). Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. If you disagree, stop using the service.
